Fashionista Dude

When my boss called me that the other day I wasn't sure if I should take it as a compliment or as a diss. Then again, I did use my lunch break to go to a sample sale all the way down in SoHo where I could buy a pair of $85 jeans I didn't need. And everyone pretty much knew that was where I went because the night before I heard about the sale from our head writer who told me about it when we were all out grabbing drinks.

Me being me I got really excited that he had gone to it because that meant I wasn't the only guy in the office that didn't mind paying $85 for a pair of designer jeans that he didn't necessarily need. Anyway fast forward to the next day when I get back to the office I felt compelled to show the HW the pair that I ended up buying and that's when my boss started laughing. But she wasn't laughing in a mocking way just in a surprised way and that's when she said that she was going to call us fashionista dudes.

I guess to her it was funny to see a couple of straight guys fussing over designer jeans. But then again I did get a great deal on jeans that would normally cost in the neighborhood of $200 which was even more important than the fact that the jeans were from a brand (Earnest Sewn) that most of my friends probable never heard of.

The bottom line is everyone has their vice(s), one of mine happens to be the fact that I like going to sample sales.
