Talking Turkey

This year my folks and I went over to my Tito Boy's house for Thanksgiving. Since Roz wasn't going to be able to make it home this year, we brought Pogie (our beloved golden retiever) over and I'm pleased to report that he was on his best behavior.
Once we had eaten our fill me, Jason and Jame's retired to the living room to watch some football as well as ESPN2's World Series of Poker marathon, while our parents remained in the kitchen catching up on the latest local gossip. Eventually, they made their way into the living room as well, where we then took turns slipping in and out of consciousness.
Later on that night I dropped my parents home and then made my way over to my Tita Lorna's house, where I caught up with Rupert and Bong and the rest of the Aguila clan for more eating. Afterwards, we managed played some poker where I finished second to Uncle Bon on a silly all in bet on a pair of Jacks (he had a pair of Queens).
Finally, Terrence was kind of enough to pick me and Rupert up to go over to Murphy's Law, to meet up with the Pinero's (Allen, Alfredo, Roseanne and Brian) for some after eating drinks. I was surprised to see how empty the bar was but when I was informed that all draft beers were 2 for 1 I got over it.

The great thing about Thanksgiving, besides the binge eating with your relatives which then leads to more binge eating with your friends' relatives (in between turkey comas), nothing beats the leftovers. At no other time of the year (at least at my house) can one feast be extended and enjoyed over the subsequent weeks that follow that holiday quite like the aftermath of turkey day.
Normally I don't get too whimsical about food but in this case I'd be lying if I said I wasn't anticpating packing my dinner for my evening meal breaks at work this week, due in large part because I've been eating way too much fast food lately.

Time to get some shut eye but before I do, I better take out the trash.
