Viva Nadal!

Couldn't go to sleep without talking about the greatest tennis match I've ever seen in my life! There are no words, superlatives, cliches that can begin to describe the match that Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer played today. I'm still in awe of the quality and passion that the two of them displayed over 6 hours at the All England Club. It's a shame that one of them had to lose (sorry couldn't help it) but it really is true.

The fact that Federer dropped the first two sets, I couldn't believe how he refused to relinquish his Wimbledon throne and willed his way to a fifth set. That just goes to show how great champions somehow find a way to dig deep within themselves in order to reach heights the rest of us mortals can only dream of. But in the end the man from Majorca they call "Rafa" just couldn't be denied. Even though he had chances to win the title in the 3rd and 4th sets, not to mention having to sit around and think about those blown opportunities due to not one but two rain delays, he also found that inner fortitude to remain focused on prying Wimbledon away from the Great Federer.

Thinking about that match even now gives me goose bumps. Can't wait to see it again on ESPN Classic tomorrow at 7 (gotta remember to DVR it).

Oh and if that weren't enough both the Mets and Skanks both managed to rally in extra innings to beat their division rivals (the Phillies and Red Sox respectively)! Thank God for Fernando Tatis and Joe Smith!

And last but not least, the Cleveland Indians reportedly traded reigning AL Cy Young Award winner C.C. Sabathia to.... the Milwaukee Brewers?! I don't mean to be disrespectful but when did the Brewers become the type of franchise that can make that kind of trade?
