81!

Looking back at the the Lazy Sunday that I enjoyed yesterday in the city, I got so carried away shopping and hanging out that I didn't even know that Kobe had detonated for 81 points against the Raptors.

81!

That is such an absurd number I still can't fathom it. He had 55 points in the 2nd Half alone! And yes I am aware that I am yelling. It's bad enough that I had a laissez faire attitude towards the AFC and NFC Championship games but being the huge Laker fan that I am, it's unpardonable that I didn't see that game at all!

The only excuse I can come up with is that I was so banged up the night before celebrating Biscuit's birthday with the CBS posse (and it really was a posse) that I didn't have my bearings at all the next day. The details of that night warrants a separate blog entry. Yeah I know that sounds lame but that's all I got.

On the bright side I got to spend some time with Erin which was cool. It's been a while since we hung out and so we met up to watch the Steelers dismantle the Broncos. Being a Steelers fan, she actually cared about the game. I, on the other hand only had a passing interest in the game.

After the game we went to this Belgian Bar in the Village and relaxed until it was time for me to get back to LI. It was a really dark in there like we were in some opium den. It was cool just kick back and just chill for once.

Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me, Kobe was about to light it up like no one named Wilt has ever done in the NBA. And all I have to show for it is a new pair of jeans, sunglasses and hat.

Yeah, I'm the worst.
