Somewhat Miserable

I hate it when I'm feeling like this, then again I don't imagine too many people enjoy feeling sick. The thing is I'm not quite sick yet but am well on the way. Itchy throat, stuff nose, hint of a cough, not to mention just feeling like crap.

I guess the thing I hate the most about knowing I'm about to get a cold is that I become a wuss and don't want to do anything. I'm actually surprised I made it through the day at work today. I totally wanted to just milk the fact that I wasn't feeling well but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Sometimes I'm too honest for my own good. Then again, I'm really fortunate to have a job that I enjoy showing up for complete with co-workers who are pleasant to be around. I don't get sick too often so this should pass soon enough.

There is a plus side to this little pity party, the Mets came back to win tonight despite Albert Pujols' ridiculous 7 RBI night. Thanks to the Killer Carlos' - Delgado hit a grand slam (5 RBI's in all) and Carlos Beltran's 2-run walk-off home run off to cap off the Mets' 8-7 victory. Nothing like former MVP's (Pujols and Delgado) and a bonafide MVP candidate (Beltran) to supply the power in this matchup of the NL's best teams.

What makes this win even more special is that it comes on the heels of the great news earlier in the day that Tom Glavine will not need surgery to his shoulder and can be back on the mound as soon as next week. Plus I just heard the Mets just acquired sweet swinging Shawn Green from the D-Backs at a minimal cost.

You know what? I think I'm feeling better already.

Numb

that's what I feel when I'm watching the news about the foiled terror plot in London. The truth is I don't know how to feel. I'm definitely ecstatic that the authorities across the pond were on top of the situation. But knowing that Al-Qaeda has found a way to make bombs with household items has definitely forced me to reconsider my traveling plans.

Was it a coincidence that they were going to attack the U.S. the same week Oliver Stone's World Trade Center came out? I'm sure it is but it has to make you wonder. It's hard to believe that we're coming up to 5 years since 9/11 changed everything. Now we have to wake up to learn that these guys have been watching Macgyver re-runs day and night and this is what they came up with. I'm kidding of course but who knows what else they will have up their sleeves in another 5 years or longer, because that's what terrorists have in abundance....time.

Not a morning person

Having to worry about 2 dogs as well as commuting from eastern Long Island has forced me to become an m.p. I'd be lying if I said that I enjoyed getting up so early in order to get certain things done. However, I am sort of glad that I do get up early now because I feel like I'm not wasting as much time as I was in the past.

I have to cut this short but felt the need to blog since I've been getting so much grief (deservedly so) for not updating this blog regularly. Now that I have my wireless connection going that shouldn't be a problem anymore.

So for you out there that take the time to check this out, thanks and feel free to post any feedback that you might have. I'd love to hear from ya.

Pinky?

My favorite color is blue, all shades of blue as a matter of fact. Always has been and always will be. Just because I am secure enough with my sexuality and choose to dabble with wearing other colors does in no way, mean that I prefer them to blue. As the old saying goes, variety is the spice of life, so I would be foolish if I didn't at least include other colors in my wardrobe.

Some of you know what I'm getting at and I'm in no way trying to say that there's anything wrong with the color pink. But just because some people happen to notice that I've worn pink clothing whenever they see me (at this time I'm refraining from naming names). I assure you that it's purely coincindental, so thanks for noticing. I'm just trying to avoid any silly nicknames that might be attributed to a slight misconception on the part of certain individuals.
