It's been a while since I've done an OC recap so here goes... How hot did Mischa look tonight? Good Lord. She must've heard about me gushing over her latest co-star Olivia Wilde and so she decided to remind everyone who the franchise still is. Either way I can't complain now that we've learned that Alex and Marissa are like 2 peas in a pod hanging out all week together depsite the presence of Alex's hot ex Jodi. Seriously though and I can't stress this enough, the OW has been absolutely tremendous for the show. Her presence has taken the OC from phenomenon status to legitimate juggernaut. It's like when the Mets were when Doc and Daryl were at their absolute zenith and were truly something to behold. Hopefully Olivia and Mischa's careers don't snort their careers up their noses (which is still a definite possibility, at least for their respective characters) like Doc and Daryl did. Anyway, I digress. The only complaint I have about the reveal of Marissa's tattoo (located on the small of her back, quite possibly the hottest piece of real estate of the female anatomy for a tattoo) is that we weren't taken to the tattoo parlor with them. Now THAT woulda been hot! The anticipation of the lesbian scene between them is enough to drive me into a certifiable frenzy, details of which will remain absent from this space.
Also this week Caleb truly showed why he is the Darth Vader of Newport. Just when you think he's gone soft and wants to chat up Lindsey, he proves that Sith Happens when he tells Ryan to go 'take a piss' once he sees that he was goin to join them for dinner and bolts, leaving his illegitimate daughter to wonder what could've been.
Then we learn something about Sandy's past as he is visited by his old law school mentor. He tells Sandy that he is sick and needs to ask him a favor....to get in touch with his daughter, Rebecca, whom he's been estranged from the last 20 years. It also turns out that Sandy and Rebecca were once engaged and madly in love with one another. Apparently she was quite the political activist and was part of a bombing of some sort of chemical plant and had to flee the country.
Then there was the great comic book enterprise that was conjured up by of all people Zack. This proved to be key because it helped Seth break out of the funk he was in after he got dissed by Alex and has to come to grips with Summer being with the aforementioned Zack. We see that Seth is quite the artist and he immerses himself in creating various characters including Ryan's alter ego 'Kid Chino.' Summer is upset at all the time Zack is lavishing on the comic book enterprise and delivers the line of the night when she says, "What is this Kavalier and Gay?" However, she too comes around when she stumbles upon the sketches that Seth had drawn of her as a Superhero while he was away in Portland over the summer.
Phew that's all for now, I'll try and do better next time.
