My Blue Heaven

So much has happened since the last time I blogged so forgive me if I don't get to a lot of that since I'm still riding high from the Giants' amazing playoff run. I was going to post some comments about the elation I felt after we beat the hated Cowboys but figured that I might want to hold off until after the Packer game. I dunno what it was but i did have a good feeling going to Lambeau than I did against the Cowgirls, so I decided to see if they still had something left.

And lo and behold they go out and shock the world once more (not without some dramatics provided by R. W. McQuarters and Lawrence "Don't call me Larry" Tynes) his run has not only been unexpected and remarkable but it has also been downright unprecedented.

From Ronde Barber running off at the mouth like his ungrateful brother, to Yoko Romo and T.O.'s man tears, to frolicking on the frozen tundra, all of these road events served as the backdrop for the redemption of Tom Coughlin, the defense, the yearlong gut check carried out by Plaxico Burress and last but not least the evolution of the much maligned Eli Manning.

Thanks to #10 and a solid running game and defense that this truly has been a magic carpet ride that has been a long time coming for Giants fans. So now it's off to Arizona to face the perfect Patriots in Super Bowl XLII where Big Blue has a date with history. No one is giving them a chance and I'd wouldn't have it any other way.

On a more somber note, Heath Ledger was found dead today in a New York apartment at the age of 28. I'm always saddened when a person in the public eye passes away at such a young age. Especially when its someone that had so much to offer not only as an actor but who also leaves behind a baby girl. Ledger's death comes almost a week after another talented and troubled actor, Brad Renfro, passed away far too soon.

Since bad things usually come in threes I shudder to think who might be next.
