Screw the Oscars

Couldn't go to sleep without mentioning how bummed I am that Mickey Rourke didn't win Best Actor. I mean losing out to Sean Penn isn't the worst thing but I saw both Milk and The Wrestler and Mickey Rourke WAS Randy "The Ram" Robinson.

Ugh. I just gotta get over the fact that at the end of the day it's all about politics and "Milk" fit in more with the overall agenda of the Academy to wave their finger at the people that voted against Prop 8. I mean I get it, i agree that gays and lesbians should be able to marry one another just like everyone else.

It's just that I can't recall ever feeling this way about a particular performance. To this day I'm still haunted by The Ram and how bittersweet his story was and how NO ONE in the world could've played that role.
