"The nice part of Staten Island"
I know its been awhile but I would be doing the Sala family a disservice if I didn't write about my vacation to Orlando this past weekend. First off I have to thank, from the bottom of my heart: Mike, Lynda as well as Mike's Mom for an absolutely wonderful time. There are so many things that I will take away from this trip. So many memories that I will cherish. But most of all, it was your hospitality and generosity that I will remember the most.
I honestly felt like I stayed at a 5 star bed and breakfast. Add to the fact that I was with some of the best friends a guy could ever have, it was hard for me to feel like I wasn't at the Sala house on Staten Island. It really did feel like we were on "the nice part of Staten Island."
As I alluded to earlier, the other aspect of my trip to Orlando (my first) that made it so memorable was the company that I had down in the Sunshine State. To Jules, Angie, Bob Jo, Janice, Mike and Lynda, it is an honor to be able to call all of you friends. I couldn't think of another group of people I'd rather have been with.
Alright, now that I've buttered you all up, for the rest of you that didn't get the chance to make the trip, here are some of the other highlights I needed to blog about (and in no particular order):
!) The infamous "R" game. Who knew that after we left Florida we all would have a new found appreciation for the letter L?
2) The even more infamous "OR" game... as in Dame Judi Dench or Sir Elton John, Pink Eye or Lazy Eye, Bill O'Reilly or Osama bin Laden.
3) The many moods of Shamu and Baby Shamu and free beer at Sea World.
4) Beware the wet road to Atlantis not to mention the wrath of The Kraken.
5) Poolside at the Sala family compound.
6) Two Words: Tong-Its
7) Living it up in the Miles Xavier Sala Suite.
8) Gluttony... thy name is Publix.
9) Jules and the incredible eggo/ice cream sandwhich
10) And the line of the weekend goes to....Bob Jo. During an epic session of the aforementioned "OR" game, in response to a pairing that featured someone who had fallen out of his favor he simply said: "Because so and so shoots at backboards while so and so shoots at girlfriends." (its much funnier when you know who the names are).
Before I go I believe there is the matter of overdue shout outs...
Engagement shouts for the following couples;
Mike and Lynda
Shane and Karen
Jules and Angie
Bong and Katie
And Wedding Shouts to:
K and Allen
Cathy and Dwayne
Alright that's all I have for now, time to get some rest. If I've forgotten anything please feel free to leave me a comment.
Sincerely,
The Crimson Bastard
P.S. Happy belated birthday Mikey!
